Bienvenue!
I’m Julie, a French teacher, home educator, wife, and mother of four.
CM Everyday French sprouted into life in 2022, when a friend asked me to give her daughter French lessons. Now, I teach your wonderful children French lessons in the Charlotte Mason style, bringing French into your everyday.
A little bit on my background in French:
I’ve been speaking French my whole life, since I’m originally from Quebec City (although later I moved to Vancouver). I taught French immersion in Canada before moving to the United States. I now live in Atlanta, with my husband, our four kids, and the family cat.
Some facts about me:
I love to travel, and whenever I visit a new city, you will probably find me at an art museum, in the impressionist section. In fact, one of my favourite parts of visiting Paris was seeing all the impressionist paintings! (You might notice that many of the paintings featured in my lessons are by impressionist painters.)
I can’t live without tea, but I’m very particular in how I take it. (Any other tea connoisseurs here?) My favourite blend is Yorkshire Gold. We actually have a whole drawer devoted to tea in our kitchen!
I love exploring nature trails, bird watching, and identifying plants and flowers – being out in nature is where I feel closest to God.
Our house is filled with so many books, it could probably qualify as a library. Not a single room is without a bookshelf! I love so many authors, but if I had to narrow it down, my top four are Jane Austen, Elizabeth Goudge, Wendell Berry, and Gene Stratton Porter. And my three recommendations for non fiction books are The Story of French by Jean-BenoƮt Nadeau and Julie Barlow, Rembrandt is in the Wind by Russ Ramsey, and Mad Enchantment: Claude Monet and the Painting of the Water Lilies by Ross King.

I’d love to hear from you! If you have any questions, comments, or just want to say hello, you can either message me on Instagram, or email julie@livingfrenchlessons.com
