French Story Club

Imagine cozying up in a French library, listening to story time, and just taking in the atmosphere.

French Story Club is the next best thing! We’ll gather around French stories that will ignite your kids’ love for French. Stories are how children naturally soak up language and culture, so it’s the perfect way to introduce French.

When my kids were younger, I always wished I could have gone to a French library for story time.

That’s exactly why I created French Story Club — so you can have that gentle, low-pressure approach to French — even if you don’t live near a French library.

This replaces Elementary French for 2026/27. Our very youngest students are introduced to the beauty of French via stories and beautiful paintings. Inside the community, you will find printable posters and art to hang about your house to review the vocabulary from the stories and learn other useful vocabulary such as emotions, weather, nature found in your own backyard.

By the end of the year, an interested student will be able to say simple sentences about how they feel, tell back one or two things from a story they just heard, describe nature in their backyard. They will be familiar with the numbers 1-20 and be able to use the most common prepositions to describe the position of items around them. They will be able to respond to questions asked of them in French.

Why French Story Club?

We all know that fairy tales and fables are important building blocks for courage, character, and imagination, so why not add these to how you learn French? Learning French at a young age should feel natural. It shouldn't be all about memorizing words to introduce yourself, or counting numbers, or all the animals you might encounter at the zoo (although those things are good to know too), it should be an immersive experience, just as you learned your first language, snuggled close to loved ones, sharing stories and soaking in the gorgeous illustrations of favorite books. This magical experience of sharing stories is what French Story Club is all about.
